Linux Support
Re: Linux Support
Thanks Meal Worms, it was that. Or something related: a complete reinstallation of a nVidia driver and it worked

Re: Linux Support
Hey all,
The Linux version of Osmos has been patched to version 1.6.1. This patch is the definitive fix for the timer freeze bug and the FreeType font issue.
If you purchased the game directly from us at Hemisphere, download the latest version by simply opening your original purchase confirmation email and clicking on the Linux download link again.
If you purchased the game via the Humble Indie Bundle, stay tuned; we'll be rolling out the Linux patch to the HIB system shortly.
Further details are available here.
Enjoy!
Dave

Yay, thanks for the support!
Re: Linux Support
Glad to see Linux users getting some love! I saw the tweet from Jeffrey Rosen's twitter feed and jumped on my Humble Bundle account to download and install 1.6.1.
Is the "timer freeze" bug related to a graphical freeze? I noticed sometimes (on my slow intel netbook) that 1.6.0 will freeze during a level. It has happened maybe 3 or 4 times total. (Only a small fraction of the total times I've played.) Does this update fix such a bug?
I could be completely mistaken. Not sure what the timer freeze is. Just read about it on this forum thread.

Hi flan_suse,
Yes, updating to 1.6.1 should fix this problem.

Hey, thanks for the update! I thought it was never going to happen.
Now how about a version for the 3DS...

Excellent, and thank you!
Re: Linux Support
Hello!
I purchased Osmos via Humble Bundle 2. Now, under Ubuntu 10.10 I'm running into graphical issue where there're white squares around spheres. I even downloaded the demo, same problem. I am attaching a command line output and a screenshot, hoping there's some solution as I was able to play without any glitches under 10.04.
Thanks for the great game!

Re: Linux Support
Hi ekolguy,
Thanks for your message. Looks like a buggy graphics driver. I see you're using Mesa; have you tried using proprietary drivers for your graphics HW?
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Linux Support
No, I haven't, it's just an onboard intel chip that comes with Lenovo B560 laptop and I've got what system already installed. Guess I'll have to enjoy the game on my Mac. It would be nice to enjoy it under Linux too though...
Thanks!
Thanks!
