Greetings Hemisphere Games! I had a chance to try Osmos on a friend's iPad the other day and LOVED it. Please consider a port to webOS. Here's why it's a great idea:
- the Palm App catalog is still relatively small, your app will stand out and be easily found
- with web and beta distribution feeds in addition to the app catalog, it's even easier to be found and to test.
- the webOS PDK (http://developer.palm.com/index.php?option=com_content&id=1850&Itemid=20) is designed PRECISELY for devs like you. iOS developers are able to port their apps to webOS in NO time using the PDK.
- Palm is currently running the PDK Hotapps contest (http://developer.palm.com/index.php?opt ... le&id=2085), and Osmos would be a shoe-in to be successful. The top selling app gets $100,000; with the 2nd tier apps getting $50,000; and 3rd tier $10,000 each. Osmos is EASILY competitve for top slot, let alone 2nd tier and below.
- With HP having purchased Palm and going all out with webOS for consumer facing devices, the future of the platform is assured.
So, in short: It's not super hard to port, your app will be noticed, and with the current contest it's quite lucrative to do so.
Last but not least; the webOS community LOVE their devs, and the Palm Developer Relations team is EXCELLENT. Take a look at twitter to see what I mean!
Sincerely,
Riz
p.s. I don't work for Palm. I'm just an enthusiastic member of the webOS community
